About Muttley Crew

Kind, science-led dog training for real life

Hi, I’m Chrissy, dog trainer, behaviour consultant and behaviour geek behind Muttley Crew Dog Training & Behaviour.

I help dogs and their humans build calmer, happier lives together using kind, reward-based, welfare-first training.

My work is about more than teaching dogs to “behave.” I want to help you understand what’s going on underneath the behaviour, support your dog’s emotional wellbeing, and build practical skills that actually work in real life.

For the Dogs Who Struggle, and the Humans Who Love Them

My Approach

I don’t use fear, force, intimidation, lead corrections or outdated dominance-based methods.

No “pack leader” nonsense. No blaming the dog. No making things worse in the name of control.

Instead, I look at the whole dog, their emotions, environment, health, stress levels, learning history, routine and relationship with you.

Behaviour is never random. Once we understand what’s driving it, we can build kind, practical strategies that help your dog feel safer, calmer and more able to cope.

What Training With Me Feels Like

Training should feel supportive, not shaming.

You won’t be judged for struggling, and you won’t be told your dog is trying to dominate you.

You’ll get clear explanations, practical exercises and a plan that makes sense for your dog, your home and your real life.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s a dog who feels safer, calmer and more confident, and a human who feels less overwhelmed and more able to enjoy them again.

Who I Help

I work with puppies, adolescent dogs, rescue dogs and adult dogs who need support with things like reactivity, lead pulling, recall, chasing, confidence, calmness, separation-related struggles, puppy foundations, adolescent chaos and everyday life skills.

Whether you’re at the beginning of your training journey or feeling completely lost, you’re welcome here.

Get results like these

My beautiful little Lexi had always been a bit flighty and had never been very welcoming to anyone visiting the house.
Reluctantly I had to keep her away from visitors and walking her filled me with dread and anxiety, often having to send the kids ahead to make sure we wouldn’t come face to face with another person or dog.

Within moments of meeting Lexi, Chrissy quickly reassured me that she was a nervous dog and just needed to learn to trust people (I get that completely) to my amazement she was literally eating out of her hands within minutes!

Just over the last few weeks we have achieved such amazing results, new visitors to the home and more importantly Lexi has started to realise that she has nothing to fear and lots to gain. It was such an emotional and heartwarming experience to see her walking across the mountain, playing in the water and walking on the lead with my boyfriend (who, for the last 4 months hasn’t been able to get near to her without being bitten)!

Feel quite emotional writing this but we really couldn’t have done this without you, heartfelt thanks.

Chrissy is amazing! I cannot thank her enough for her help and support in changing my anxious and very reactive cockapoo back to his normal relaxed self.

I used to absolutely dread walks. Oscar would bark and lunge at every dog he saw. It was really embarrassing.

Our walks have gone from stressful trips out to relaxed days out like we used to, I loved the fact all the training was done through play and Chrissy relaxed style made us both feel at ease.

Thank you Chrissy I am so glad we met you and grateful for the training/support you have given us.

I contacted Chrissy due to my puppy cockerpoo having really bad separation anxiety.

We've been working on a one to one basis, puppy training classes and online courses.

I can honestly say whenever we left Max he would go insane. Barking non stop for the whole time, and he would get quite distressed. Chrissy has given me strategies and so many fun games to get Max in the right frame of mind when we do leave.

I was very, very nervous when I left him. I was scared to leave for fear that my neighbours would complain. I couldnt even go upstairs without him crying.

Today I left him, it was only for half hour and he only barked 5 or 6 times while out and just sat and waited on the sofa. Instead of the usual non stop crying barking and howling.

This for Max is a massive, massive improvement, not only for himself but for me working so hard with him to get the results.

Not only is chrissy one of Max's favourite people, trainer and behaviourist she's actually turned into an awesome friend I never knew I needed.
